This once considered area of “bro-science” has finally been confirmed by actual research as a direct contributor to muscle growth. In fact, some studies show it to almost double the amount of muscle growth over an 8 week period! There is more at play for such significant growth, but it is pretty conclusive now that focusing on the target muscle(s) when resistance training does lead to more hypertrophy (muscle growth) over time. The concept of mind-muscle connection is the ability to feel the intended muscle activate and flex while performing the exercise.
