Interview with Tristen

What makes X so special?

I originally started using Gyroscope in 2018 as a novel way to keep track of all the personal data (sleep, heart rate, mood, etc.) my smart devices were collecting.

I tried other data aggregation services, but other than Gyroscope, none of them had a very useful or modern UI. On top of that, Gyroscope was putting new and extremely useful updates at least once a month, so I figured the team was passionate about what they were creating and I really started to fall in love with the app.

Being able to build a relationship with a coach, who also has access to all of your health data and keep you motivated, is what truly makes X special.

None of this could actually compare to my experience with X, though. While it was useful to have all of my data in one place and be able to see how metrics were trending, I found a lot of trouble making actionable plans from them, as well as staying motivated in achieving my health goals.

In the months leading up to using X, I was still tracking my personal metrics and using the app, but my eating and drinking habits slipped quite a bit and I went almost 3 months without a single workout.

X proved to be the key in making full use of all this data and really getting on track towards achieving my goals. Most noteworthy, after years of trying, I've finally hit my target weight of 165 and maintained that weight for several months, all while maintaining my love for craft beer. Building a relationship with a coach who has access to your health data, plus keep you motivated, is what truly makes X special.

I don't think there is a single better investment that you could make then signing up for X. It's not cheap, but if there is any possible way you can fit it into your budget, then you'll see returns 10-fold in your health, happiness, and productivity.

What has changed with your body or lifestyle since starting on X?

The most obvious changes in my lifestyle are in the consistency of good eating habits and exercise. Even if I have a rough week and get off track (which happens from time to time), it is really powerful having someone that can recognize the impact and hold me accountable. This has helped me lose weight, get stronger, center myself and eat healthier. Ultimately, it has made me feel a lot more confident about myself and my body and be a lot happier and productive in my day to day life.

I think the key was not only having someone that could hold me accountable and motivate me, but also working with Aaron to change my mindset around working-out.

How did your habits change with X?

The most significant changes in my habits are related to exercise and mindset. Prior to working with Aaron through Gyroscope X, I only worked-out sporadically and struggled to find consistent motivation. I think the key was not only having someone that could hold me accountable and motivate me, but also working to change my mindset. It was really surprising how small shifts in mindset and the way I approached exercise made huge differences in exercising consistently.

Were there any specific aspects of your health your coach was most helpful with?

I'd have to say exercise, hands down. Objectively speaking, based on weight, BMI, resting heart rate, and workout ability, I'm in the best physical shape I've ever been in. Aaron has been instrumental in achieving that through his help in optimizing my workout routines and promoting a mindset that overcomes dips in motivation.

...it is really powerful having someone that can recognize the impact and hold me accountable. This has helped me lose weight, get stronger, center myself and eat healthier.

Why did you choose your specific coach?

I chose to work with Aaron because of his background in exercise science and strength training. Having someone that could go into depth and get technical about exercise and nutrition was important to me. I also knew that exercise was one of the overall wellness areas that I lacked most, so I was looking for a coach that would help me more in that area.

Having worked with Aaron for almost a year now, I've learned so much from him beyond just workouts and exercise. Aaron has been a significant motivator and accountability partner on my health and wellness journey and has really changed how I approach and overcome challenges through mindset.

My motivation to do things fluctuates, as I think it does with most people, but Aaron has helped me to build several strategies to overcome a lack of motivation and continue making progress towards my goals.

What section of your roadmap did you find most helpful for your goals?

Working on mindset has had a huge impact on making progress towards all of my goals. My motivation to do things fluctuates, as I think it does with most people, but Aaron has helped me to build several strategies to overcome a lack of motivation and continue making progress towards my goals.

For example, some days I have absolutely no desire to work out, despite knowing I'll feel better after I do so and that it'll have a positive effect on my body and get me closer to my physical goals.

One thing that has helped immensely on such days are small contracts with myself. Instead of deciding to do a full workout, I'll decide to workout for 1 minute, or instead of deciding to go for a run I'll get dressed for a run and tell myself I'm going for a short walk. Once I've fulfilled that smaller contract with my self and I'm in the midst of the activity, it is so much easier to push myself harder and get more out that exercise.

What would you say to people who may be on the fence about joining X?

I don't think there is a single better investment that you could make then signing up for X. It's not cheap, but if there is any possible way you can fit it into your budget, then you'll see returns 10-fold in your health, happiness, and productivity. Even Warren Buffet, easily one of the greatest investors of our time, has vouched that health is the most important investment you can make for yourself. So I would figure out how to make it work, because there isn't a better way to manage your health and wellness than with X.

Nothing offers a data-driven personalized coaching experience like this. It's truly unique.

Thank you, Tristen!
