MCP Bridge Privacy Policy
The Gyroscope MCP Bridge lets you connect an AI assistant you already use, such as ChatGPT or Claude, to your Gyroscope account. This page covers the personal data involved when you do. It is part of the Gyroscope Privacy Policy, which covers the rest of Gyroscope.
Gyroscope is run by Gyroscope Innovations, Inc. Questions about the MCP Bridge go to support@gyrosco.pe.
Categories of personal data collected
The MCP Bridge collects almost nothing new. It is a door to the Gyroscope account you already have, and it only opens when you add Gyroscope in the assistant and approve the connection on gyrosco.pe. You sign in on gyrosco.pe, and the assistant never sees your password. Three things happen through it, and this section keeps them apart.
What the assistant adds to your account
Only what you ask it to log, in your own words: meals and drinks, workouts, runs, rides and lifts, and, when you allow logging of measurements, weigh-ins, bodyfat and sleep. Each entry goes into your Gyroscope account exactly as if you had typed it in the app. The assistant adds nothing you did not ask for, and it cannot edit or delete anything. Logging is on by default, and you can switch it off for a look-only connection.
What the assistant can read from your account
Data that is already in Gyroscope, synced from your devices and the app, and read only when you ask a question that needs it. Nothing is read in the background. When you approve the connection, you choose what it can read:
- Included: food and nutrition, sleep, steps, workouts, runs, rides and strength training, weight and bodyfat, heart rate, resting heart rate and HRV, meditation, music and computer activity, weather, and account basics such as your timezone.
- Off unless you switch them on: places and travel history (visits with their city, times and approximate coordinates), your mood and your journal. These are more personal, so each is a separate optional add-on you choose when connecting, and the assistant is told not to load them without your explicit permission or request.
The connector carries raw tracking data only. The records members keep in the Vault, symptoms, injuries and Gyroscope's own coaching notes are not available through it to any assistant.
What we record about the connection
For each connection we record which assistant it is, when you approved it, what you allowed and when it was last used. For each request we record which data type it asked for, when, whether it worked and how long it took. We do not store the contents of requests or answers, apart from the entries the assistant logs to your account at your request.
Purposes of use
- To answer your questions in the assistant using your own Gyroscope data.
- To add the entries you ask the assistant to log.
- To show you every connected assistant and let you change or end its access.
- To keep the service secure and reliable, including rate limits.
We never sell this data, and we never use it for advertising.
Categories of recipients
- The assistant you connect. It receives only the data it requests to answer you, and that data becomes part of your conversation with it. For ChatGPT that company is OpenAI, and for Claude it is Anthropic. From then on, that company's privacy policy and your settings with them apply, including whether your conversations can be used to train their models.
- Our hosting and infrastructure providers, who run Gyroscope's servers on our behalf, as listed in the Gyroscope Privacy Policy.
Nobody else receives it.
Data retention
- Sign-in requests expire 10 minutes after they start.
- Access expires 15 minutes after it is issued and renews automatically while the connection is in use.
- A connection that goes unused for 90 days lapses, and the assistant has to connect again.
- Disconnecting ends access straight away. Every request checks that the connection is still active.
- The record of each connection and the log of its requests are kept for as long as your account is open.
- Entries an assistant logs at your request become part of your Gyroscope data and are kept like the rest of it, as the Gyroscope Privacy Policy describes.
Your controls
- Choose what each assistant can read when you connect it. Logging can be switched off, and places, your mood and your journal each stay off unless you switch them on.
- See every connected assistant, change what each one can access, or disconnect it at any time at gyrosco.pe/account/connections/. Removing Gyroscope inside the assistant may not end the connection on our side, so disconnect it there too.
- Delete any entry in the Gyroscope app, or delete your account and its data at any time.
- Manage or delete your conversations in the assistant's own settings.
- Ask us about your data, or to delete it, at support@gyrosco.pe.
