How it works
Bedtime gets a lot of focus for sleep consistency (for obvious reasons), but standardizing the time you wake up can be an effective way to stabilize your sleep schedule. If you are finding yourself trying to go to bed earlier but not falling asleep, starting with changing your wake time may help. Waking up at a consistent time early in the day (ideally aligned with the sun) will help you naturally feel tired by the end of the day and self-regulate your sleep schedule. It is important to do this throughout the week and on the weekend. Having a very different schedule on weekends is common, but can have an effect similar to similar to jetlag.
