Most of it arrives on its own from Apple Health and connected devices. Food, mood and your morning check-in are the parts you log.

Apple Health is the main source on iPhone, and Apple Watch data arrives through it. Some devices connect to Gyroscope directly instead: Oura, Whoop, Garmin, Withings and Dexcom among them.
When two sources report the same thing, your primary device wins and the rest is deduplicated, so a watch and a ring together never double count.
Almost always the source has not synced yet. Open the device’s own app so it uploads, then open Gyroscope so it pulls.
Apple Health only shares what you allowed: check Settings, Health, Data Access and Devices, then Gyroscope, and turn on every category you want tracked.

No. Take a photo and Food XRAY reads the meal, or describe it in a few words and the app works out the nutrients.
MyFitnessPal only reaches Gyroscope through Apple Health and shares little beyond raw calorie numbers, so tracking food directly in Gyroscope works better.
