How to connect your Fitbit Charge 6 to Gyroscope

Use Gyroscope's direct Fitbit integration because Fitbit's iPhone app does not currently write tracker data to Apple Health.

DirectData fit: 4/5

The direct account connection avoids an unsupported Apple Health hop and brings Fitbit into the combined timeline.

Applies to: Any Fitbit tied to your Google/Fitbit account, including Charge 5, Inspire 3, and Fitbit Air.

Short answer

Gyroscope has a direct Fitbit integration. Connect it once and your data joins everything else on one timeline, deduplicated against your primary device. Set up Charge 6 in Google's current health app using its official Fitbit device instructions, then add Fitbit as a data source in Gyroscope.

What syncs

Google's official Fitbit data inventory verifies what Charge 6 collects. These rows describe the tracker, not the unpublished per-field contents of Gyroscope's direct Fitbit payload.

Charge 6 remains part of Google's current Fitbit device system. The maker's data inventory documents daily activity, heart, sleep, oxygen, temperature, and fitness estimates collected by the tracker, subject to its stated feature conditions. That inventory supports the device rows only. It does not publish which individual fields Gyroscope's direct Fitbit integration transfers.

Apple Health is not a fallback write route for current Fitbit data. Google's Apple Health guidance says its health app can read Apple Health categories but does not currently write its own records back. A third-party bridge would introduce another connection and is neither required nor endorsed here. Use the direct Fitbit account path, then keep your primary device choice consistent for deduplication.

Connect it

  1. Charge the tracker, install Google's health app on your iPhone, and sign in to the Google account that holds your Fitbit data.
  2. Open the app and follow Google's device setup guidance. Do not start by pairing the tracker from the iPhone Bluetooth screen.
  3. Let Charge 6 complete its first account sync, then open Gyroscope and add Fitbit as a data source.
  4. Complete the Fitbit or Google account authorization and keep your everyday watch selected as the primary device for deduplication.

What you get in Gyroscope

The direct Fitbit connection puts supported tracker data next to your other health sources instead of depending on an Apple Health bridge. Gyroscope merges the timeline and deduplicates records against your primary device.

Health Score combines heart, sleep, activity, weight, places, computer time, mind, and nutrition signals, with per-area grades and an accuracy rating. For sleep, Gyroscope's own Sleep Score is built from HRV, resting heart rate, and duration when those inputs are available.

Sleep Battery follows a rolling seven-night, quality-weighted sleep debt. The correlations engine can compare Fitbit-linked activity and sleep context with weight, food timing, workouts, and other tracked metrics across timing lags and rolling windows.

Insights to try

  • Steps vs weight trend.
  • Sleep duration vs steps.

Gyroscope needs at least three varying days of overlap for a comparison. With enough data, it can show correlation strength, best lag, high-versus-low day differences, outliers, and a fitted trendline. Regular tracker wear gives both comparisons more complete days. Keep Charge 6 on during active hours and sleep when you want the fullest daily record.

Common questions

Can the Charge 6 sync with Apple Health?

There is no native write sync from the current Google health app to Apple Health. Google's Apple Health guide says the app reads Apple Health data and that writing back will be added later. Use Gyroscope's direct Fitbit integration instead.

Can I use a third-party bridge?

Third-party bridge apps exist, but this page does not name or endorse one. The direct Fitbit integration is the clean path and avoids adding another transfer point.

Why has my Charge 6 stopped updating?

Open Google's health app with the tracker nearby and pull down to trigger a sync. Google's sync guide also provides a Sync option under Connections.

Does every tracker metric in the table arrive directly?

The table describes what Charge 6 collects. Gyroscope does not publish the direct Fitbit connection's exact fields, so no per-field transfer promise is made here.
