Gyroscope V11 is now live and available for download in the App Store.
Right now, two kinds of people are using the same technology.
The first group uses it to get better. They track their sleep, their food, their steps and their blood work. They notice patterns early and fix small things before they become big things. With AI reading the data for them, they do not need to be a doctor or a data scientist to understand what is going on. Every month their bodies and minds get a little sharper, and their health becomes something that compounds, like savings.
The second group is being used by it. Their attention is the product. Their biology is the target. Endless scrolling, late-night delivery, short sleep and constant stress. The same kind of software that could help them get healthier is instead tuned to keep them on the screen. They wake up tired and under-recovered, with less energy to change anything.
The difference between these two groups is not money or willpower. It is who gets to decide what your body is being optimized for: your future, or some big ad corporation’s quarterly targets.
V11 is built for the first group, and for anyone who wants to join it. You do not need to be an athlete or a biohacker. You need a phone, whatever tracker you already wear, and about two minutes a day.

How this helps a busy person
Most people are not short on health advice. They are short on time, and on any way to know which advice applies to them. A normal week has work, family, travel and a hundred small decisions about what to eat and when to sleep. Nobody has room for a second job managing their health.
So V11 does the managing. Your tracker records the night. Your camera records the meal. Your phone records where you went and how much you moved. Gyroscope puts all of it in one place, reads it for you every morning, and hands back a short list: what went well, what did not, and the one change most likely to help tonight.
Over weeks this adds up. You learn which dinners wreck your sleep and which do not. You see that the 3pm coffee is still in your blood at midnight. You find out your resting heart rate has been drifting up since spring, months before a doctor would mention it. None of this needs a spreadsheet. It needs the app open for a minute in the morning.
A meta-analysis of 138 studies found that prompting people to monitor their progress made them more likely to reach their goal, with bigger effects when progress was recorded or reported. (Harkin et al., Psychological Bulletin, 2016). You do not have to be strict about it. Simply seeing your own numbers, regularly, moves them in the right direction.
That is the idea behind everything below. Here is what changed in V11.

Meet your new Sleep Coach
A watch can tell you that you slept 6 hours and 40 minutes. It cannot tell you why, or what to do about it. That is the job of the new Sleep Coach.
Every morning you get a full read of the night: a personalized Sleep Score, a plain-language summary of what made it good or bad, and one thing to change tonight. Heart rate, HRV, oxygen, breathing rate and wrist temperature all feed in when your device records them. Oura, Garmin and Whoop now connect alongside Apple Watch, so you can use whatever you already wear.

What makes this different from every other sleep app is what it can see. The report is not only built from the night. It is built from your whole day. Your last meal and how long it took to digest. Caffeine from your coffee and soda, and how much was still active at bedtime. Alcohol. Steps. Your DNA, if you have connected it. Nutrition Before Sleep puts the evening and the night on one timeline so you can see the connection yourself.

A 2023 systematic review and meta-analysis estimated that a standard coffee should be finished about 8.8 hours before bed, on average, to avoid reducing total sleep time. (Gardiner et al., Sleep Medicine Reviews, 2023). Your caffeine cutoff should come from your own intake, not a rule of thumb. V11 tracks what is still in your system at bedtime.
Sleep Battery shows how much recovery you have banked, and the seven-night strip shows whether it is trending the right way. If you work nights or sleep in the day, a nonstandard sleep mode is now easy to find.

In a 2024 UK Biobank study of about 61,000 adults, people with the most regular sleep schedules had 20 to 48% lower risk of death over follow-up than the least regular, and regularity predicted mortality more strongly than sleep duration did. (Windred et al., Sleep, 2024). A regular bedtime matters as much as a long one. The Sleep Coach watches your timing, not just your hours.
A new calendar and daily routine
Good days are mostly the same day, repeated. V11 makes that repeatable. Design your perfect day: set a morning, day and evening routine, put the steps you actually want on each one, and see the whole plan on one timeline with your caffeine cutoff, last meal and bedtime marked.

The new daily calendar shows your places, events and sleep on the same grid as the routine, so the plan and the real day sit side by side. When a routine slips, you see exactly where it slipped.

Your coach checks in at the edges of the day: a 30-second mood read in the morning, and an Evening Reset to close the day before the wind-down starts. Both take less time than reading this paragraph.

A 2016 systematic review of 56 studies found that simple self-reported wellness measures reflected changes in training load with better sensitivity and consistency than the common objective measures like heart rate and HRV. (Saw et al., British Journal of Sports Medicine, 2016). A quick daily check-in on how you feel tracks real changes in your body better than most lab numbers do.
Hydration is here
Beyond food, all your drinks can now be tracked. Log a glass or a bottle in one tap, and caffeine from your coffee, tea and soda gets factored into your sleep report automatically.
Water counts too. Not just plain water, but the water in every drink, plus the water in your food, plus anything extra you add. Hydration is much more than chugging water, so with Gyroscope One your sodium and potassium levels are monitored alongside it, giving you the full picture and a target that fits your day.

Apple Health food sync, with AI
If you already log food in another app, you no longer have to choose. V11 syncs nutrition with Apple Health in either direction, and uses AI to keep the numbers accurate on the way through instead of pasting in whatever the other app guessed.
You decide the direction. Import from Apple Health if another app is your main food log. Auto-export if Gyroscope is. Or keep manual control and move entries across one at a time.

In a trial of 1,685 adults, people who kept food records six or more days a week lost about twice as much weight as people who kept them one day a week or less. (Hollis et al., American Journal of Preventive Medicine, 2008). People who keep a food record most days lose about twice as much weight. The record has to be easy, or it stops.
This one goes to 11
Since V10 we have closed thousands of bug reports and crash logs. Faster launches. Fewer stalls on sync. Food saves that confirm instead of hang. Walking workouts that show up. Imported programs that keep their names. If you wrote in, thank you. Most of this list came from you.

Benchmarks: see how strong you are, and catch changes early
Your weight and your steps are easy to measure. Your actual capacity is not, so most apps skip it. Benchmarks are short tests you can do at home, and V11 rolls them up into qualities you can track over time: strength, endurance, mobility and balance for the body, and speed, focus, memory, control and stability for the mind.

Each quality shows whether it is building, steady or slipping, and a short test is always queued up next. The point is not a score. It is catching a slide early, while it is still easy to reverse.

In a 2018 study of 122,007 adults who did a treadmill fitness test at the Cleveland Clinic, the fittest group had the lowest mortality, and the risk associated with low fitness was comparable to or greater than smoking, diabetes, or heart disease. (Mandsager et al., JAMA Network Open, 2018). Fitness is one of the strongest predictors of how long you live, stronger than most risk factors doctors screen for.
New biological age and insights
Biology brings Blood, Aging and Organs into one place. Your biological age and speed of aging now get a proper report: how each organ system compares to your calendar age, what is helping, what is hurting, and what your blood work says about it. These are estimates built from your own data, and they update as the data does.

This is where everything connects. Your sleep, nutrition, caffeine, fitness, resting heart rate, blood work and DNA all land in one report, and the insights come from the combination, not from any single number. You cannot get that from a sleep app, a food app and a lab portal that never talk to each other.

A 2016 meta-analysis of 46 studies and about 1.2 million adults: each 10 beats-per-minute increase in resting heart rate was associated with roughly 9% higher risk of death from any cause, and 8% higher risk of cardiovascular death. (Zhang et al., CMAJ, 2016). A slowly rising resting heart rate is an early warning most people never see. V11 watches it for you.
Improved Places tracking and accuracy
More Places-specific announcements are coming soon, but we have made dramatic improvements to the tracking in this release. Visits are detected more accurately, travel between them is cleaner, and you can fix the rare miss in a tap: split a visit, rename a place, or adjust its position.

There is also a brand new interface for viewing your places and travels: each day as a timeline of where you were, with your sleep, sunrise and routines on the same line.

And much more
Phone Time for every member, so you can see exactly how many hours go to your phone and to which apps. Weekly and monthly reports with a pop quiz on your own data. A faster Health Camera. Coach personalities you can tune.

A phone sitting on the desk, face down and silent, measurably reduced working memory and attention compared with leaving it in another room. (Ward et al., Journal of the Association for Consumer Research, 2017). The cost of the phone is not only the hours on it. Seeing the real number each morning is usually the whole intervention.
